GENERAL Hospital fans have been promised a big shakeup in future episodes as the soap opera has brought back an actor whose character was killed off years earlier.
The long-running series might pull off one of its most shocking plot twists with the return of Ryan Paevey, who played Nathan West for five years before the character died in 2018.

His character’s love interest, Maxie Jones, portrayed by Kirsten Storms, was also killed off at the time, but it appears only Ryan is set to return.
While not much is known about Ryan’s part, the Hallmark star assured fans that they will be shocked by what unfolds.
“I thought if we’re going to do this, we should really do it and surprise the fans with a meaty storyline,” Ryan told Deadline.
“I was surprised by my excitement for a homecoming and reuniting with familiar faces after seven years,” he added.
ACTING BREAK
Ryan’s return to the small screen might seem out of left field for some, as just last April, the California native revealed he was taking an acting break.
He shared his plans to step back from the camera while interacting with fans on X who were anxiously awaiting his next movie.
Aside from his role on General Hospital, which he took on in 2013, Ryan starred in a string of Hallmark movies, including Unleashing Mr. Darcy (2016), its sequel, Marrying Mr. Darcy (2018), and Christmas at the Plaza (2019).
The TV star shared with his followers the challenges he’d faced the last few months, revealing he’d been dragged down by “fake friends and empty promises,” leading him to consider taking the next year off.
However, Ryan gave some hope that fans would see him again on screen sooner rather than later, as he revealed he’d be open to working again if the right project came along.
Though upset by the actor’s decision, fans were supportive and offered a slew of kind words.
