For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Cooper Dillman from Richmond, Virginia has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Oakland University beginning in the upcoming 2025-2026 season.

Dillman competes for Nova of Virginia Aquatics and most recently competed at the Virginia Senior Championships. There he captured the state title in the 400 IM with a lifetime best 4:27.34 as well as in the 200 fly where he swam to a 2:04.19 in his win. He also made the ‘A’ final in the 50 fly and 50 back and won the 1500 free as well.

He just finished his senior season at Monacan High School. This past February, he swam to numerous Virginia Class 4 State Titles. He swam to a 4:33.68 in the 500 free and a lifetime best 49.47 100 back. He also swam on the team’s 200 medley that captured the state title.

In addition to swimming at Monacan, Dillman also was a 3 year member of the school’s golf team. He helped the team to a runner up finish at states his junior year. Individually, he won regionals his sophomore year shooting 66-71 and finished 6th at states during his junior year shooting 69.

His mother, Anita Dillman was an All American swimmer for LSU while his sister Shannah Dillman swims for University of West Florida and other old sister Carleigh Dillman swam for George Mason University during her freshman year.

Dillman’s Best SCY Times:

1650 free: 15:22.18 1000 free: 9:14.31 500 free: 4:28.89 400 IM: 3:53.76

The Oakland University men captured the 2025 Horizon League Championship with 949 points. Distance freestyler Jonas Cantrell led the way with 57 individual points including wins in the 500 free (4:18.06) and 1650 free (15:15.71). Cantrell just finished his senior season so the two will not overlap.

Based on his best times, Dillman has the chance to expand upon the team’s lead in the conference. His best time in the 1650 free would have 2nd behind Cantrell. Dillman’s 500 free would have been 8th and his 400 IM would have been 6th.

Dillman will arrive this fall as a member of the class of 2029 along with Victor Teeters, Ajjuub Ezzat, Caleb Rohacs, Ike Martinez, and Trevor Boodt.
