Sunday didn’t go their way and their season ended, but not before they earned a trip to the Little League World Series — something no team in that town’s history had ever done. My favorite on the list comes from Shayna Goldman and it’s something I’ve been advocating for for years: “Add one or two Designated Player tags.” Effectively allow teams to place a designated player tag on one of two star players and that doesn’t count toward the salary cap, allowing teams to pay their best players what they’re truly worth and not get crushed by the ceiling. This would have changed everything for the Blackhawks between 2010-19. It also would have helped the Penguins and Kings and a couple other teams along the way. But it would give teams an opportunity to pay top dollar to their superstars while also having any roster continuity at all. I’m a big fan of it!Should the NHLhave relegation? 3-point games?
