Carlos Alcaraz seemingly still plans to play the US Open mixed doubles with Emma Raducanu.
There had been some question marks about whether he would pull out due to reaching the final of the Cincinnati Open.
Raducanu and Alcaraz are one of the superstar doubles teams at the US OpenGettyThe five-time Grand Slam winner will face Jannik Sinner in the Cincinnati final on Monday evening.
This does not leave much time to fly to New York to get ready for the newly revamped mixed doubles event.
That starts on Tuesday, August 19 – the week before the men’s and women’s singles events at the US Open starts.
On top of that, there is $1million (£750,000) in prize money going to the winners.
The draw was officially revealed on Sunday night, with Alcaraz and Raducanu still among the names entered.
They will play Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula in a blockbuster first round match.
Sinner has teamed up with Katerina Siniakova and they face Belinda Bencic and Alexander Zverev.
The mixed doubles event will be played over two days on August 19 and 20, before the players turn their focus to the singles.
Raducanu is ‘the boss’
Alcaraz and 2021 US Open champion Raducanu were announced as a doubles pairing back in June.
“She’s going to be the boss,” Alcaraz said with a smile. “I’m super excited about it. I think it’s going to be great. It was an amazing idea for the tournament.

“We will try to win. But obviously it’s going to be really, really fun.”
Coco Gauff is out
Not every player was keen on the idea of having the mixed doubles the week before the US Open starting.
US star Gauff, who is a renowned doubles player, has opted to skip the event in order to focus on the singles.
“For me, it was just because I know the free week of the US Open is already packed for me, for sponsor things, and it was just like a whole other thing.
Gauff won the US Open singles in 2023 – and is fully focused on repeating that featGetty“So, I didn’t want to waste mental energy on that.”
