2025 BATTLE OF THE CLUBS
August 1st – August 3rd Cranbrook School, Sydney, NSW, Australia SCM (25m) Results: Meet Mobile – Battle of the Clubs! While Australian national record holder and new dad Cameron McEvoy just wrapped up his World Aquatics Championships campaign with 50m free gold in Singapore, a young rising star back home took down one of the 31-year-old’s sprint records.
Competing at the 2025 Battle of the Clubs meet at Cranbrook School in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, teenager Ollie Moclair ripped a lifetime best of 21.69 to win the boys’ 17&O age group 50m freestyle.
The Cranbrook 17-year-old’s previous lifetime best entering the meet was represented by the 21.93 logged at last month’s NSW Metro SC Championships.
Last weekend, however, Moclair managed to find another gear and hack .24 off his PB to establish a new Australian Age Record. McEvoy indeed held the old standard of 21.83 from when he was 17 years of age.
Moclair’s performance is a positive sign with the ace heading to this month’s World Junior Championships. That elite junior meet is slated for August 19th through August 24th in Romania.
