DENVER (KDVR) — The westbound lanes of Interstate 270 are closed Sunday morning while police investigate a possible wrong-way crash.

The interstate's westbound lanes are closed at Vasquez Boulevard, Commerce City police said in a 7:43 a.m. X post.

Police said two vehicles collided head-on and they believe crash stemmed from a possible wrong-way driver. Both drivers were taken to hospitals, but police said they do not know of the drivers' conditions or how bad were the injuries.

CDOT cameras show westbound traffic being diverted onto Vasquez Boulevard.

Police also did not give an estimated time for reopening.
