ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Tickets are available to see the Finger Lakes Film Festival’s “Best of the Fest” on Wednesday. It’s the film festival’s first-ever stop in Rochester at the Little Theatre on East Avenue.
News10NBC’s Garrett Chan reported that Wednesday’s event will showcase the best short films from the 2026 Finger Lakes Film Festival. Local filmmakers are set to present their work in a range of genres and answer questions from attendees.
Earlier in the day, Garrett met with filmmakers and the festival organizer as they toured FLX Studios in Henrietta to see the new studio facilities and advanced technology. The main festival will take place in February in Geneva.
“So Rochester and the wider region has a terrific filmmaking infrastructure… We really want to show filmmakers that, yes, the gear is here, the facilities are here. We talk to them about our local crew base, which is very strong. So all of those things are a part of what we’re doing today in addition to celebrating the films they’ve already made,” said Tim Banach, co-founder of the Finger Lakes Film Festival.
Wednesday’s event will feature 50 films shown over two hours, and tickets are still available at the door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with screenings starting at 7 p.m. You can also get tickets by clicking here.
