AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said it was investigating a homicide that occurred overnight in north Austin.
APD said 911 received a call at 2:38 a.m. Sunday about a man with “apparent injuries to his body” near the 9800 block of North Interstate 35.
According to police, officers found a Hispanic man with injuries at the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but he later died at 3:25 a.m. APD has not yet identified the man.
“In this case, we are dedicated to finding out exactly what happened,” APD said during a briefing Sunday morning. “There's not a ton of information right now, as the investigation is just beginning.”

APD stated that the investigation was being handled by both the crime scene investigation unit and the homicide division.
