Idlib Governorate Opens Four Service Centers ...Syria

News by : (ُEnabbaladi) -

The Idlib Governorate has opened four main service centers in coordination with the Civil Defense team, as announced on July 27.

The service centers are located in Saraqib, Maaret al-Numan, Khan Sheikhoun, and Sinjar.

An advanced point has also been established in the Abu al-Duhur area, along with a specialized center for clearing unexploded ordnance in Maaret al-Numan.

Status of Provided Services

The Director of the Civil Defense Directorate in Idlib, Ziad al-Harkoush, explained to Enab Baladi that these centers serve as the main operational hubs for rapid response, providing integrated services that include ambulance, firefighting, search and rescue, and child-specific services. The goal is to ensure the safety of civilians and equipment and prevent the spread of danger in the event of an incident.

Al-Harkoush pointed out that the Abu al-Duhur point, affiliated with the Saraqib center, has been equipped with a fire truck and an ambulance, due to the agricultural nature of the area and its need for quick intervention when necessary.

He also highlighted the establishment of the specialized ordnance disposal center in Maaret al-Numan, where the team receives reports of unexploded ordnance and handles them in a safe and calculated manner by specialists.

The goal of opening these centers is to support efforts to return displaced residents to their areas and to provide essential services that encourage stability, according to al-Harkoush.

Meanwhile, Civil Defense teams are working in parallel to remove rubble and open roads in areas that were destroyed in recent years, as part of a broader plan to rehabilitate infrastructure.

Reconstruction Efforts

In the context of infrastructure rehabilitation and road clearing, the Governor of Idlib, Mohammad Abdul Rahman, stated on Sunday, July 27, that Idlib Governorate teams have removed about 100,000 cubic meters of rubble in the cities of Maaret al-Numan, Saraqib, and Khan Sheikhoun.

In addition, they cleared dirt barriers from 30 kilometers of main roads, including the Aleppo–Damascus road east of Saraqib, and the Saraqib–Ariha road.

As part of strengthening rapid response, the governorate teams have provided more than 34,000 diverse services, including ambulance, firefighting, sanitation, and response to traffic accidents.

The governorate also participated in extinguishing coastal fires with 16 teams and 20 multi-use vehicles, according to the governor.
