DENVER (KDVR) — After two weeks of calling on witnesses in the trial of James Craig, the dentist accused of poisoning his wife in 2023, both sides rested their case, and closing arguments are underway.
Craig, 47, is facing several counts, including first-degree murder, solicitation to commit murder and solicitation to commit perjury after being accused of poisoning Angela Craig, his wife of 23 years, with cyanide and tetrahydrozoline in 2023.

During the opening arguments on July 15, the prosecution claimed that financial problems and marital affairs motivated James to allegedly poison his wife's protein shakes, while the defense said that Angela knew about these financial problems and affairs, and this wasn't a motive. Defense seemed to suggest that Angela could've taken her own life.
Prosecution called on several witnesses over two weeks. Coworkers described James' behavior leading up to Angela's death, including a personal package that arrived at his office. Workers at a medical supply company claimed James wanted cyanide overnighted to his office.

Both sides rested their cases on Monday, and on Tuesday prosecution and defense are giving their closing arguements.
