Michael Irvin struggled to cope as close friend Deion Sanders discussed his cancer battle.
The Dallas Cowboys greats share a brotherly relationship and Irvin asked fans to pray for Coach Prime after visiting him in June while he was dealing with an at-the-time unrevealed health issue.
Shilo has roasted Shedeur over his NFL draft slideSanders called a press conference Monday to reveal that he had been diagnosed with a highly aggressive form of bladder cancer.
Speaking alongside his doctor, the Colorado Buffaloes coach confirmed that he had won his fight before sitting down with Irvin for a heart-to-heart.
Primetime’s diagnoses came on April 14 as his sons Shedeur and Shilo were busy preparing for the NFL Draft.
Clips from a live stream showed Deion looking gutted as Shedeur slipped into the fifth round and the legendary cornerback revealed to his former teammate that he had a scheduled surgery to remove his bladder on his mind.
“One of those looks that I had when it was going on with Shedeur and Shilo with the draft at the house,” Sanders said. “It had nothing to do with the draft.
“I’m thinking about I got this surgery coming up in a couple of weeks. It had nothing to do with that (draft).”
Irvin asked: “You knew this while the draft was going on?”
“That breaks my heart,” he added when his long-time friend confirmed it.
Deion shared how difficult it was watching his sons fall down the board while being afraid for his life.
Irvin was visibly moved by the conversation and removed his glasses to wipe tears from his eyes.

It has been a tough start to life in the NFL for Shedeur, who is anchored to the bottom of a four-man depth chart and throwing to ‘equipment guys.’
He told his dad not to come to training camp so he could focus on his recovery.
Deion told Irvin that Shedeur gave him a clear, six-word message: “When preseason comes, watch me work.”
The Browns face the Carolina Panthers on August 9 and Shedeur’s chances of making an impact may have improved recently as Kenny Pickett suffered a hamstring injury.
That leaves Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel ahead of him in the pecking order for crucial practice reps.

There were rumors that Deion would step down as Buffaloes coach but he is adamant that he will be on the sidelines.
“I always knew I was going to coach again,” Sanders said. “I was always going to coach. It was never in my spirit or heart that God wouldn’t allow me to coach again.”
Sanders, who had two toes amputated in a separate scare in 2021, reported for July’s Big 12 Media Days, but was determined not to take the limelight over his players.
“I’m not here to talk about my health,” he said. “I’m here to talk about my team.”
Colorado posted a 9-4 record in 2024 with Shedeur at quarterback and Travis Hunter taking the Heisman as a two-way ‘unicorn.’
Senior transfer Kaidon Salter and 17-year-old freshman Julian ‘JuJu’ Lewis will be competing for a spot under center.
