When it opens later this year, the Bella Ridge Golf Club will be allowed to sell alcoholic beverages at a temporary clubhouse or tee-side after getting approval Monday night from Johnstown Town Council.
The golf course is expected to open this fall, based on the recorded message when calling the business’s phone number.
It appears a new temporary clubhouse may be built near the southwest corner of Weld County Road 44 and Weld County Road 13, or Colorado Boulevard, in the existing golf course area, Johnstown planning documents show. The clubhouse is expected to have a golf simulator area, a conference room, two offices, a retail area and a seating area.
The new hotel and restaurant license allows the golf club to serve alcohol from anywhere on the links, with a beer cart or otherwise, according to Johnstown town clerk Meghan Martinez.
Ryan Flamm, general manager of the golf club at 2990 Weld County Road 44, said at Monday’s town meeting that he wanted to offer a good time in a safe manner.
Golf course architect Art Schaupeter said he would develop the 18-hole course using the natural topography of the land. More than 200 acres near the golf course site is slated for residential and commercial development.
