A Monday morning crash that shut down northbound U.S. 285 in Jefferson County killed at least one person and sent multiple others to the hospital, according to first responders.
Jefferson County sheriff’s officials first reported the three-car crash and U.S. 285 closure on social media at 5:51 a.m. Monday.
Paramedics took four people to hospitals, with three in critical condition, according to West Metro Fire Rescue.
Firefighters had to extricate patients from two of the cars involved in the crash, West Metro officials said.
Jefferson County sheriff’s officials said at least one person was killed in the crash, but it’s unclear if that person was one of the four taken to hospitals by West Metro.
