Strabag to renovate Prague metro station ...Middle East

News by : (GCR) -
A consortium featuring the Czech subsidiary of Austria’s Strabag and Spain’s Obrascón Huarte Lain (OHLA) has won a €52m contract to modernise Prague’s Flora metro station.

Located on Prague Line A, Flora station was built in 1980 and is based 25m below the central Olšany Cemetery, the city’s largest graveyard.

The team’s scope of work includes construction at the station’s public and private areas, adding barrier-free access, new routes from above to below ground and replacing 24.6m of escalators.

Moritz Freyborn, from Strabag’s management board, said: “We are pleased to contribute our technical expertise to complex urban infrastructure modernisation projects.

“This project is a logical continuation of the successful renovation of the Jiřího z Poděbrad metro station and the ongoing construction of the new Olbrachtova metro station.”

Strabag has a 67% share in the consortium, with OHLA owning the remainder.
