An unidentified man was struck and killed by a vehicle in suburban Orland Park, with the driver fleeing the scene.
According to Orland Park police, the hit-and-run occurred in the 18400 block of LaGrange Road. At approximately 11:40 pm. Friday, the man was struck by a vehicle, with the driver immediately fleeing the scene.
Police arriving at the scene found the man unresponsive on the roadway, and he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and seeking out witnesses who saw the incident unfold.
“This is a tragic event, and we are doing everything possible to identify and apprehend the individual responsible for this senseless act,” said Eric Rossi, Chief of the Orland Park Police Department. “We urge anyone with information to come forward and help us bring justice to the victim and their family.”
