The Metra Electric Line, which connects downtown Chicago to the southern suburbs, will have adjusted schedules for two weekends this month to accommodate construction, officials announced Thursday.
The line will operate on its Sunday schedule on both Saturday and Sunday for the last two weekends this month, July 19-20 and July 26-27, according to Metra. The Sunday schedule can be seen here.
On July 26-27, the line will also see a partial shutdown downtown. All trains will terminate and originate from 18th Street Station, rather than Millennium Station, officials said.
Buses will replace the trains between Millennium and 18th Street stations, but they will not stop at Van Buren Street or Museum Campus, the two intermediary stations on the line.

According to officials, the shutdown will also apply to trains on the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District’s South Shore Line, which stretches from Millennium Station to South Bend, Indiana. These trains will also terminate and originate from 18th Street on July 26-27. The South Shore Line will operate on its regular schedule July 19-20, however.
The disruptions to regular service are due to construction related to NICTD’s expansion of South Shore service, Metra said. The work will allow the stations past 18th Street to accommodate additional South Shore trains and involves track realignments and upgrades to the train power supply system.
