Beyonce Swaps Flying Cadillac for Gold Mechanical Horse After Tour Mishap ...Middle East

Beyoncé is making changes to her Cowboy Carter Tour after a scary stage mishap last month.

On Thursday, July 10, the superstar musician debuted a new prop in the closing moments of her sold-out show in Atlanta — a gold mechanical horse — as she zipped above the arena on high wires to perform her song “16 Carriages.” Videos circulating on social media show the elaborate set piece’s legs galloping as Beyoncé sings.

Queen Bey previously performed the track while flying through arenas in a red Cadillac, but she appears to have dropped that stage component after the vehicle began tilting midair during her June 28 performance in Houston.

“Stop,” the singer repeated several times in footage shared via social media at the time. “Thank y’all for your patience,” she added as she paused the performance.

Beyoncé stayed in the Cadillac while crew members lowed her back down to the stage, prompting a round of applause from fans inside Houston’s NRG Stadium.

Following that show, she cut “16 Carriages” from her setlist the next night in Houston on June 29, ending instead with “Amen” from her Grammy-winning Cowboy Carter album. She also skipped “16 Carriages” during two dates at Northwest Stadium near Washington, D.C., on Friday, July 4, and Monday, July 7.

The “Texas Hold ‘Em” hitmaker embarked on her Cowboy Carter Tour in late April in Los Angeles, followed by dates in Chicago, New Jersey, London and Paris. The tour is due to end on July 26 in Las Vegas.

Beyoncé’s latest tour has been something of a family affair, with daughters Blue Ivy, 13, and Rumi, 8, joining her on stage for the song “Protector.” Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z, also made a surprise appearance for a rare collaboration of their biggest hits — including “Drunk in Love” — during one of her Paris dates.

The acclaimed tour launched just two months after Cowboy Carter won Best Country Album and Album of the Year at the Grammys in February.

“I just feel very full and very honored. It’s been many, many years, and I just want to thank the Grammys, every songwriter, every collaborator, every producer, all of the hard work,” Beyoncé said of her AOTY victory at the time. “I want to dedicate this to Ms. [Linda] Martell, and I hope we just keep pushing forward, opening doors. God bless y’all. Thank you so much.”
