You can’t always get what you want.

Not even if you’re social media star and viral personality (and former LSU gymnast) Livvy Dunne.

Dunne made a name for herself during her time at LSU as a talented gymnastGetty

The 22-year-old shared on her TikTok with her eight million followers that she was denied her bid to buy Hall of Famer Babe Ruth’s one-time apartment in New York City.

She had a $1.6million cash offer ready, but revealed that the New York City co-op board had rejected her.

“Guys, I’m so upset,” Dunne began.

“So a few months ago, I decided I was going to make my first real estate purchase, which is so exciting. And I was going to get an apartment in New York City. But the gag was, it was Babe Ruth’s apartment.”

The New York Yankees legend had his Upper West Side three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom unit listed at $1.595 million.

“I got an interior designer because I didn’t want to bring my college furniture to Babe Ruth’s apartment,” Dunne said. “That would be, like, criminal.”

Everything seemed set in place and that approval would be imminent, but the building board decided against it for reasons unknown.

“Then the week that I’m supposed to get my keys to my brand new apartment, I get a call: The co-op board denied me, ” Dunne continued.

“So pretty much the people in the building voted to not have me live there, which is fine. Like, honestly, it wasn’t financial. “

Dunne seemed to be in decent spirits, as she joked and speculated as to why her bid was denied.

“It could have been, for all I know, they could have been Alabama fans and I went to LSU. Like, I have no clue,” she said. “Maybe they didn’t want a public figure living there.”

Dunne famously went to LSU where she starred as a gymnast and won a national championship, while simultaneously becoming the face of NIL and ushering in a new era of college athletics.

Dunne’s social media following grew into millions across all of her platforms, as NIL deals quickly made her a multimillionaire by the time she left school.

These days she can be found at Pittsburgh Pirates games, where her boyfriend, Paul Skenes, stars on the mound and is already one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball in his second season.

Skenes and Dunne have become one of the most recognizable couples in the country, but apparently was still not enough for Dunne to purchase the home of the Great Bambino.

Real estate agent Miryam Tesfaegzi, who represents the owner of the current resident of Ruth’s apartment, spoke on the failed sale.

“When a co-op does a rejection, they don’t have to share any information with us,” Tesfaegzi said. “We never know why a co-op would reject any buyer.”

“Obviously, they wanted to sell it, so that’s the only thing that’s gonna make them happy,” Tesfaegzi said of her clients.

It was reported that Ruth lived in that exact unit for nearly 20 years from 1920 to 1940.

Dunne will have to keep looking for her first real estate purchase, as for one reason or another, this one was not meant to be.
