Did the Chicago Bears just reveal a proposed seating chart for their new stadium? ...Middle East

The Chicago Bears appear to be moving ahead with their new stadium design process.

The team, in an email to season ticket holders this week, offered up a series of proposed seating arrangements – and prices – for season tickets in their new facility.

“The Chicago Bears are exploring the development of a new, state-of-the-art stadium that will serve all of Chicagoland and the state of Illinois — it will be an enclosed world-class venue for concerts, family shows, sports, and community events year-round,” the team said in its email. “We invite you to take a survey to share your thoughts and preferences. Your feedback will play a key role in shaping the fan experience, amenities, and ticketing options in a new stadium.”

Inside the survey were a series of proposed seating options for fans and questions surrounding proposed amenities within and around the stadium, such as restaurants.

Some options ranged from the upper deck to the mezzanine level to premium reserved seating to lower level seating.

The various seating options each came with their own price tags for both the permanent seating license to the individual seat prices per season. The survey notes, however, that “no pricing decisions or requirements for any ticketing program have been finalized.”

The permanent seat license, which is a one-time fee that grants fans the ability to purchase season tickets each season, ranged from $6,000 per seat to over $100,000 per seat, according to the fans who received the survey.

The latest development comes after the Bears shifted their focus back to a stadium in Arlington Heights, though the email to fans notably did not name a location.

In a statement to NBC Chicago in May, the Bears confirmed they have “made significant progress with the leaders in Arlington Heights, and look forward to continuing to work with state and local leaders on making a transformative economic development project for the region a reality.”

The statement came after a spokesperson for Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson said executive leadership from the team “indicated they intend to prioritize the development site located in the Village of Arlington Heights.”

The Bears bought the now-shuttered Arlington Park racecourse for nearly $200 million in 2023, but a property tax dispute stalled their plans and prompted them to shift their focus back to downtown Chicago.

But the team’s renewed plans for a lakefront stadium in the city were later met with resistance from lawmakers and advocacy groups, ultimately sparking their shift back to the northwest suburb.

Several hurdles still face the team before breaking ground, and Chicago isn’t shutting down plans just yet.

“As the Mayor has said several times, the door remains open in the city of Chicago,” a spokesperson for Johnson told NBC Chicago.

Meanwhile, the Arlington Heights village board recently hired a consulting firm to evaluate an economic impact study surrounding the new stadium and proposed entertainment district. The village also hired a consultant to take an in-depth look at the traffic impacts of the proposed development.

Earlier in May, Arlington Heights’ new mayor, Jim Tinaglia, said he spoke with Bears President and CEO Kevin Warren about the development just before his swearing-in ceremony.

“I feel good about it,” he said. “Kevin is, I think if I was able to read his mind, I would say I think he wants to come here. I’m pretty sure that he does.”
