NFL on FOX is putting the finishing touches to it’s broadcast team ahead of the 2025 season.

The landscape of sports broadcasting has been dramatically changing over the past few years, and FOX brought in NFL legend Tom Brady as part of their lineup, penning him to a 10-year, $375 million record deal in 2024.

However Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson’s faced the prospect of hitting the market as both reporters contracts expired following the Eagles victory over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

Though there were some whispers of the iconic duo potentially heading out the exit doors and to rival broadcasters.

However according to Front Office Sports (FOS), FOX have now pulled the plug on any chance of that happening by offering them both contract extensions.

Speaking on their podcast ‘The Calm Down with Erin and Charissa’ back in March, Andrews made her feelings clear on wanting to stay with the network.

“I really hope I’m still employed by FOX when FOX gets a Vegas Super Bowl,” Andrews said.

Andrews began her career as a freelance reporter at FOX Sports Florida in 2000 before departing for ESPN in 2004.

However she returned to FOX in 2012, and serves as a sideline reporter for the network’s lead NFL crew alongside Tom Rinaldi, and is a regular contributor for ‘FOX NFL Sunday,’ among other various programming including college football and the MLB.

Seven-time Super Bowl winner Brady and Kevin Burkhardt make up the core sportscasting team.

The last time a Super Bowl was held in Vegas was in 2024 when Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers.

As FOX held the broadcasting rights to Super Bowl LIX, in New Orleans, they will not have the rights again until Super Bowl LXIII in 2029.

As such, to fulfil her dream of working a Super Bowl, the Allegiant Stadium – the home of the Las Vegas Raiders which Brady has a part ownership in – would need to be selected as the host, but as of yet, a location has not yet been determined.

Thompson also chimed in on her hopes for her career in the near-future on the podcast back in April, reiterating that she had to correct her family about not having been axed by the network following the conclusion of the 2024 campaign.

“No, I’m not leaving FOX. I was never leaving FOX,” she told Andrews.

“I don’t know where this took on a life of its own, where I was hosting my family at the ranch for the past weekend.

“Four of my family members asked, ‘Well, the place looks great. How are you going to afford it now that you don’t have a job?’ I’m not leaving FOX. I was never leaving FOX. I’m not fired.

“As I always talk about, FOX is my longest relationship…I will hopefully end my career there in a long, long time.”

Thompson landed a role in the HR department at Fox when she was 22-years-old, and has worked her way up the ladder to hosting Fox’s NFL Kickoff pregame show on Sundays.

The 43-year-old has also held a simultaneous role with Amazon Prime as a host of their Thursday Night Football pregame coverage.

Although FOS has exclusively reported that both Andrews and Thompson had secured “lucrative” extensions with Fox ahead of the 2025 NFL season, there will still be a number of changes to their broadcasting personnel elsewhere.

This comes as two-time Super Bowl-winning head coach Jimmy Johnson announced his retirement at 81-years-old, following 31 years as a co-host on Fox NFL Sunday.

One of his co-hosts Terry Bradshaw was asked what Johnson’s retirement meant for him going forward, with the two, along with analyst Howie Long, having been part of the broadcasting team since its inception in 1994.

“I told my wife before I left the room a while ago,” Bradshaw said at a press conference in New Orleans before Super Bowl LIX took place.

“I was sitting there and I got two years left at FOX. I’m 76. It’s a young man’s game, I get that. Everybody wants the new thing.

“So I said if we can get to the next Super Bowl, I’ll be 80.

“I think that’s time and that’s 80 years old and that’s pushing it.”
