Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are expected to meet on Capitol Hill Tuesday morning — a day after Netanyahu met with President Trump at the White House.
Johnson, who has been an avid backer of Israel, came out against a bipartisan war powers resolution that would prevent the U.S. from intervening in Israel's conflict with Iran. Israel and Tehran are currently under a fragile ceasefire — following the recent strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities.
Johnson also showed support for Trump's proposal that the U.S. take over Gaza.
The press availability is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m. EDT, ahead of a closed-door meeting.
