Chelsea to beat Fluminense @ 4/6 Pedro Neto to score at any time @ 31/10Blues can cruise past Fluminense
Chelsea rate a superior side to Club World Cup semi-final opponents Fluminense and they also look to have plenty in their favour at the MetLife Stadium.
Enzo Maresca’s men left it late to beat Palmeiras 2-1 in the quarter-finals, but were clearly the better side in that contest and it wasn’t a taxing tie for the west London side.
The Blues allowed the Brazilians only two shots on target and an expected goals tally of just 0.21. The 2-1 scoreline suggests a tense and tight contest, but it was a pretty serene victory for the Stamford Bridge boys in truth.
Chelsea were taken to extra-time by Benfica in the quarter-finals, but the Blues won the shot count 22-8 and it was more of a case of the Eagles just trying to keep Maresca’s men at bay.
It’s fair to say that the draw has worked out well for the Blues, who have enjoyed a kind passage to the semi-finals, and that should have helped to keep them fresh for the New Jersey semi-final.
Maresca has also made use of a deep squad, rotating his roster throughout the competition and that should also aid the Blues on the short turnaround from the last-eight win over Palmeiras.
On the other hand, it was all-out defence for Fluminense in the final quarter of their last-eight tie with Al-Hilal and that could leave its mark. The Brazilians lost the shot count 15-10 and the corner count 12-4 and that quarter-final clash has impacted Tricolors squad.
The Rio de Janeiro side will be without suspended duo Juan Freytes and Matheus Martinelli in New Jersey. It’s also easy to have concerns over the condition of 40-year-old Thiago Silva, who marshaled the Fluminense defence against Al-Hilal.
Plenty looks to have fallen in Chelsea’s favour for this semi-final clash and the 4/6 on offer about the west Londoners winning in 90 minutes, is worth taking.
Pedro can hit the Neto
Pedro Neto has been Chelsea’s standout performer at the Club World Cup and the 25-year-old can find the net against Fluminense.
The Portuguese forward failed to find the net in the quarter-finals but he still provided a constant threat, and the former Wolves ace has scored three goals in five Club World Cup appearances.
No Chelsea player is hitting more shots on target per 90 minutes than Neto at this year’s Club World Cup and he looks a great price to get on the semi-final scoresheet.
