Texas A&M added a big-time linebacker to its 2026 recruiting class on Friday afternoon.
The Aggies picked up a commitment from 4-star linebacker Tank King, who also held offers from Texas, Michigan, Notre Dame and many more top programs.

— Hayes Fawcett (@Hayesfawcett3) July 4, 2025King is a Texas native and is regarded as one of the best linebacker prospects at the prep level. He’s the No. 419 overall player and the No. 29 linebacker in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 56 player from the state of Texas.
King attends Memorial High School in Port Arthur, Texas. He’s listed at 6-foot-1, 205 pounds.
King took official visits to both College Station and South Bend during the month of June. In the end, it appears the Aggies were more convincing.
King gives Texas A&M 23 commits in the class of 2026. The Aggies’ class overall ranks No. 3 nationally behind only USC and Georgia, per 247Sports Composite rankings. There’s still a few months to go before signing day, but Mike Elko and his staff are off to a tremendous start in this cycle.
