The weather and other factors have pushed back the grand opening of Delta Park in east Greeley.
The grand opening was a part of the July events the city of Greeley recently announced to celebrate Parks and Recreation Month.
Recent heavy rainfall and supply chain delays, however, have impacted construction of the south end of the park, according to Susan Murray, division manager, planning and capital projects of Culture, Parks and Recreation.
The grand opening is now set for 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the park, 240 E. 24th St.
The playground and most of the park area will open to the public in July once final inspections are complete and the fence is removed, Murray added. Construction will still be ongoing in the south end of the park through August.
Construction at the park started last summer, with a final cost of $3 million.
