In her cover story for V Magazine, which was published on Tuesday morning, the rap and hip-hop artist revealed that her upcoming studio album will lean heavily into pop and 80s influences, which is very different from her previous tracks.

According to the magazine, the 29-year-old's new album is rich with various influences that date all the way back to 40 years ago. “I have so many things that float around in my brain when it comes to the ‘80s.” Even though she was born in 1995, she is aware that she has "no experience of the '80s or any relation to it in that sense," but she sees that decade as “a dream world concept, or dream-core.”

I want to embrace that.”
