17-year-old Mimi Xu will be among those looking to cement her legacy in London this summer.

Having made a splash on the junior scene, Xu comes into the tournament as No 318 in the world.
She is also the first Welsh player to enter the main draw since Rebecca Llewellyn almost 20-years-ago.

Who is Mimi Xu?
Mingge Olivia “Mimi” Xu is a 17-year-old Welsh tennis player, who is featuring at Wimbledon against Emma Raducanu.
Originally from Swansea, Wales, Xu’s parents are of Chinese heritage.
She began playing tennis at Swansea Tennis and Squash Club, before moving to the National Tennis Academy in Loughborough.

She is currently ranked No 318 in the world, and is set to make her Wimbledon debut against Emma Raducanu.
Xu won four doubles titles on the junior setup between March and October 2024, and won her only singles title in Aldershot in August 2024.

Mimi Xu and Emma Raducanu are friendly with each other, with the pair able to communicate in Mandarin, due to both of their families heritage.
The pair also practice together, and Xu was a hitting partner for the British team during the Billie Jean King Cup Finals.
Xu has expressed her admiration for Raducanu, calling her a “role model.”
