ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A man is sharing his memories of his son and nephew who died in a motorcycle crash on Lake Avenue in April.
A car collided with the motorcyclists as it was turning left into a business. Weeks after the crash, a memorial was set up by their families but it was later removed by the city for what they say was obstructing sidewalks.
The Aldi location near the crash allowed the family to put the memorial on their property but have asked the family to remove it. News10NBC spoke with father and uncle Glen Sutton when he removed the memorial.
“My nephew was gonna have a baby, he’s gonna have it this month, and just know that a baby has to grow up without a father,” Sutton said. “And it’s just, this is a serious tragedy. You know, the person that done it, just know what a loss this is, not only to me, but the community, and lots and lots of other people.”
All that’s been left is a crucifix and flowers at the scene of the crash.
