ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man is set to be arraigned on Thursday morning after New York State Police say he pointed a gun at a trooper and barricaded himself in a car on I-90 in Pittsford.
The standoff shut down the Thruway between the Victor exit and the Henrietta exit for hours on the morning of Wednesday, May 28. Police say Anthony Caceres, 31, pointed a gun against the car’s glass and in the direction of a trooper. That led to troopers taking cover behind a patrol car and requesting backup.
Troopers were eventually able to take Caceres into custody. He’s charged with menacing a police officer, obstructing governmental administration, and criminal possession of a weapon. No one was injured in the standoff. Caceres is due in Monroe County Court.
