A COSTCO shopper has revealed the “proper way” to use the classic soda lids in the food courts.

Costco fans do not need to worry about learning an entirely new drinking method, though, as it’s similar to how you drink at Starbucks.

On the social media platform Reddit, one defiant Costco customer revealed the supposed correct way to use the classic soda lids.

The method sees you lift up the plastic seal and drinking out of the hole without a straw, much like a Starbucks coffee.

The caption of the thread boldly declared: “The the proper way to use the lids. You are all wrong.”

In the comments of the post, a debate broke out over the method, with some offering their own solutions.

One person said: “I push it and and use it with no straw so it catches the ice.”

But this method was criticised for not treating this ice right.

A comment read: “I want the ice to flow out so I can chew on it.”

Others competently swore off the method: “I like using a straw bc I’m not a savage.

“So no, I am doing it just fine lol.”

Another stuck up for the use of a straw, too: “I use a straw and am fine with that.”

In a moment of seeming appeasement, one comment found what could be argued as the sweet spot: “Just push down with your lips when you drink. It’s not that hard.”

FOOD COURT CHANGE

In more food court solutions, one customer at a Costco in California revealed an ingenious way the store is helping shoppers beat the heat.

A Costco in Ventura County has installed an awning to create shade for those waiting in line at the food court.

This makes it easier to create a single-filed line, instead of the multiple lines there usually are.

One comment said: “This Costco is in Ventura County, CA and has an outdoor food court.

“It’s been a while since I’ve been here and it looks like they’ve added a relatively new sun shade and are directing customers into a single line (instead of the typical multiple lines at the windows).

“Super happy they did this.

“It eliminates confusion about which line is which (versus people just waiting nearby) and the sun gets brutally hot out here, so it’s nice to be shaded.”

Costco has been paised for the move by others on Reddit: “

Recently drove past the close Costco to get to the farther away Costco because I had to make a return and I knew the farther away Costco has the overhang providing shade.

“Worth it as the return line took about 20 minutes in 100 degree weather.

“No way I could have done that out in the sun.”
