Watch out for San Antonio.
Spurs star Victor Wembanyama has beefed up, which is bad news for the rest of the NBA.
Wembanyama and Kevin Hart had a conversation while in a couple of ice tubsGettyThe 21-year-old sensation out of Paris revealed on Kevin Hart’s Cold as Balls’ show that he has gained 30lbs since entering the NBA two seasons ago.
“I gained probably like thirty-pounds,” Wembanyama said.
The San Antonio big man told Hart that he came into the league around 215lbs and is now at 245lbs.
“Strength training, of course, but the main thing for me is I could, in theory, put on a lot of weight, but I would lose some of my mobility,” Wembanyama said when explaining his dedicated process.
“Some of my athleticism. So, it’s something that needs to be done really carefully, and I have a lot of eyes and a lot of minds thinking about me in this instance.”
The former no.1 overall pick in 2023 exploded on to the scene during his rookie year in San Antonio, dominating right out of the gate.
He played in 71 games, while averaging 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.2 steals, and 3.6 blocks per game.
Wembanyama won Rookie of the Year and finished second in voting for Defensive Player of the Year.
His sophomore season saw him get out to an even better start but was cut short due to deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder.
He played in just 46 games, but had he stayed healthy, was the overwhelming favorite to win DPOY.
Wembanyama has arguably the brightest future of anyone in the leagueGetty Entering his third season, Wembanyama is now much bigger and strongerGettyHe averaged 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.1 steals, and 3.8 blocks per game before his season was cut short.
He now heads into his third year, primed to dominate, while putting on 30lbs of muscle and getting a whole lot stronger.
Wembanyama is listed at 7ft 3ins, but is rumored to have grown even taller the last few months.
The NBA is his oyster.
A bigger and stronger Wemby should terrify the rest of the league.
After hearing the news of Wembanyama’s transformation, fans around the NBA were all saying the same thing.

“He’s about to be hell in the league,” one fan commented on X.
“That boy entered his Giannis phase quick, I love it,” another fan chimed in, comparing him to Giannis Antetokounmpo.
“Bro is gonna be a problem. He mentally has what it takes and the skill and the size, he’s gonna be MVP this season, I’m calling it,” one more added.
What will be a noticeable change not only for the young star and San Antonio organization is that future Hall of Fame head coach, Gregg Popovich, will no longer be manning the sideline down by the Alamo.
Popovich coached the Spurs for nearly three decades, from 1996-2025, before suffering a stroke in November that ultimately forced him to retire from coaching.
Wemby and Pop were extremely close with one another.
Wembanyama could be a legitimate MVP candidate going into Year 3Getty“First of all, the person,” Wembanyama said.
“We were all really close. We all have really good relationships between the teammates and him. It’s always sad and shocking when something like this happens.
“What’s incredible with him is that he keeps giving hope being the person that he is. He keeps inspiring us. Because the way he works, he works harder than most athletes in the world.”
While Pop may no longer be roaming the sideline, there’s a new sensation that’s about to fully take over the league.
And he just got 30lbs heavier.
