Disneyland meet-and-greet characters will hit the road to visit with school children, senior citizens and military veterans in Anaheim neighborhoods as a way to thank city residents for supporting the unanimously approved DisneylandForward expansion project.
The 70 Happiest Hours in Anaheim will bring Disney characters and employee volunteers to locations throughout the city over the course of three days at the end of August to help celebrate Disneyland’s 70th anniversary.

The Anaheim City Council unanimously approved the $1.9 billion DisneylandForward expansion plan in 2024 that will bring new theme park attractions, hotels, restaurants, retail and parking structures to the Disneyland resort district.
As part of the approved plan, Disneyland will contribute $45 million for transportation improvements in the resort area, $30 million to affordable housing in Anaheim and $8 million for city park improvements.

The 70 Happiest Hours in Anaheim events will take place at 15 locations around the city. Disneyland has not yet announced the locations, dates or times for the events.
Disneyland Resort President Thomas Mazloum called the 70 Happiest Hours in Anaheim celebration Disneyland’s “most ambitious community effort yet” while announcing the event during a recent State of the Resort presentation.

“Keep your eyes peeled,” Mazloum said during the media event. “We just might be stopping by your neighborhood to celebrate the Happiest Place on Earth.”
The 70 Happiest Hours in Anaheim events are expected to take place at schools, parks, gyms, community centers, youth centers, teen centers, veterans clubs and family resource centers throughout the city.
