Flamengo mocked Cole Palmer on social media following a dramatic Club World Cup turnaround against Chelsea.

The Brazilian top-flight league leaders came from behind to win 3-1 in Group D against the ten-man Blues.

Pedro Neto put Chelsea ahead, but two second half goals within just six minutes from Bruno Henrique and Danilo put Flamengo in front.

Substitute Nicolas Jackson, who was on the pitch for four minutes, was then sent off for a dangerous foul on Ayrton Lucas.

Wallace Yan netted the third and final Flamengo goal to complete the comeback and make it two wins from two in their group.

Palmer started for Chelsea but struggled to make an impact as the Premier League giants were stunned at the Lincoln Financial Field.

And their opposition were quick to poke fun at the Blues talisman on social media with a now-deleted post on X.

They posted an image of the weather forecast in Philadelphia with the temperature showing a high of 29 degrees Celsius in the States.

In reference to his shiver celebration that Chelsea fans have become so accustomed to, they said: “Too hot for ‘Cold Palmer.'”

Chelsea, who beat Los Angeles FC on Monday night, were certainly off the pace against Flamengo, who had ex-Blue Jorginho in midfield.

The match looked out of reach once they conceded for a second time and were reduced to ten men after Jackson’s dismissal.

Referee Ivan Barton had little choice but to show him a red card, his second in a little over a month.

Jackson apologised to fans on Instagram, saying: “I want to say sorry.

“To the club, the staff, my teammates, and all the fans watching, I let you down.

“Another red card and honestly, I’m so angry at myself. I work hard every day to help the team not to put us in this kind of situation.

“I still don’t fully understand how it happened. But one thing is clear, it wasn’t intentional.

“Just a football moment that went the wrong way. No excuses. I take full responsibility.

“I’ll reflect, I’ll grow, and I’ll come back stronger for the badge and for everyone who believes in me. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.”
