In what his fans are now calling an "unexpected crossover," the Grammy-winning musician hit the red carpet for the new racing film starring Brad Pitt, where he showed up in style for the New York City premiere in Times Square on Monday, June 16.
Mayer, 47, was dressed in a simple dark grey suit for the outing, which he paired with a green collared shirt underneath and what appeared to be a small silver pendant necklace. He was also sporting a fancy watch from the luxury Swedish manufacturer Audemars Piguet.
Fans were pleasantly surprised to see Mayer, 47, attendance, as many of his supporters had no idea that he is featured on one of the film's soundtrack songs, playing guitar for Ed Sheeran's track entitled "Drive." (The same song also features the Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl on drums).
