STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. – A baby crawled out of a second-story window, leading to charges against two people, police said.
Joseph Bennett and Destiny Smith were charged with reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child, officials said. This happened around 10 a.m. on Sunday on Chestnut Street in Bath, Steuben County.
A bystander saw the 10-month-old and climbed onto the roof to prevent the baby from falling, police said.
Bennett and Smith were also accused of not providing food and drink for two dogs in the home. The children and dogs were removed from the home.
