STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. – A baby crawled out of a second-story window, leading to charges against two people, police said.

Joseph Bennett and Destiny Smith were charged with reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child, officials said. This happened around 10 a.m. on Sunday on Chestnut Street in Bath, Steuben County.

A bystander saw the 10-month-old and climbed onto the roof to prevent the baby from falling, police said.
