Summer Nail-Care Tips From a Celebrity Manicurist ...Middle East

As the summer of 2025 gets underway, nail techs are gearing up for one of the busiest and most creative seasons of the year. With clients eager to show off their hands and feet in the sunshine, nail care goes beyond aesthetics - it becomes a true service of protection, hydration, and seasonal transformation. As a nail tech, staying ahead means having a toolkit stocked not just with vibrant polishes but also with innovative treatments and techniques that address the unique challenges of warmer weather mixed with humidity.

As a celebrity manicurist, here are a few unique products that I stock in my kit for the summer.

Starting with skin care, let's dive into one of my favorites for hand care and protection against the sun. We love soaking in the great outdoors - from gardening to sunbathing at the beach - but this can take a toll on your hands. Moisture is essential on both humid and dry heat days. Youthful-looking hands can be attained with proper hydration. A great option is the Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor Moisturizer ($42), which protects, moisturizes, and leaves skin glowing.

Pay attention to your cuticles - they need equal attention during a manicure service. Chlorine and saltwater can dehydrate the skin. Using a cuticle softener enriched with oils can help hydrate that area, making your manicure last longer. My favorite product is Froya Organics Magic Revive & Glow Balm ($39), which is made with naturally sourced ingredients from Norway. It contains rose hip oil and beeswax, which heal the skin and protect it from environmental aggressors. I apply the balm around the cuticle after polish application.

Most of my clients opt for white or light pastel nail colors in the summer, which can be a challenge as these shades are susceptible to turning colors in the sun. A high-quality, non-yellowing top coat acts as a protective barrier, preserving the true color of the polish while adding long-lasting shine. It also enhances the durability of the manicure, helping to prevent chips and discoloration caused by increased outdoor activities and UV exposure. The Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat ($10) works wonders in the summer.

I love to include a little touch of luxury in my manicures with the La Mer Renewal Oil ($150). It provides more than just hydration - it repairs, nourishes, and adds a healthy glow all at once. I incorporate this luxurious oil into my hand massages.

Whether my clients spend their time outdoors or inside, it's important to me as a nail technician to go beyond the manicure. It's about educating, caring, and customizing every experience so you can walk away not just polished, but empowered.
