Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney couldn’t contain their emotions as Northern Ireland claimed their first ever World Cup of Darts triumph.
Northern Ireland beat Wales, a team comprised of Gerwyn Price and Johnny Clayton, 10-9 in a thrilling final in Frankfurt.

Rock and Gurney, who threw first in the final leg, regained their composure to clinch the title before sinking to their knees during an emotional embrace.
And when Gurney checked out 16 to seal the championship, he and Rock shared an embrace before tears were seen running down their face.
It’s the first time Northern Ireland have ever won the World Cup of Darts in what is the 15th edition of the tournament.
After receiving their gold medals and £80,000 cash prize, neither Rock nor Gurney didn’t regain their composure in what was an emotional post-match interview.
“Daryl said the first time we’re paired together we’ll win this,” said Rock, fighting back more tears.
“But I didn’t think it would really be the first time. I didn’t expect us to do it. But we done it.”
Gurney congratulated his opponents, calling them ‘legends of the game’, adding: “Josh, power scoring, meant I just had to clean up the finishing. I was never going to miss double eight.
“The first one was on the wire and thankfully I could just sneak the second one in.
“I have never been so proud of this man and myself. I put in this in higher regard than whenever I’ve won an individual event. I’d like to thank the PDC. It was absolutely unbelievable.”

This year’s finals threw up plenty of drama before the nail-biting final with favourites England (starring Luke Littler and Luke Humphries) suffering a shock defeat to Germany at the first hurdle.
