— Frank Valentini (@valentinifrank) June 12, 2025Fans immediately took to social media to share in their excitement for the casting. One user on X posted, “I loved Niki Smith so much-I did not like or accept any of the other alters. I am delighted, excited to see Ms. Slezak!!! Ok, did her character Viki-was she the mother of Jack Brennan when he was Joey? Will she be Brennan's mom? Love #GH, show has been great-thanks to all!” While another shared, “It's about time. Valentini has been so involved with giving former OLTL actors jobs he over looked the best one of the lot. I hope she's not playing Viki. I used her in my GH Fam fiction. She was Lila's sister.” While a third added, “The Goat actress of daytime history is coming to GH?!?!?! This is going to be good!!!”
Slezak is best known for her role of Victoria “Viki” Lord on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live from 1971 to 2013 when the show went off the air.
In addition to the role of Viki, Slezak also appeared in the CBS series Blue Bloods the television film Next Stop, Christmas, and the upcoming film Song Sung Blue.
General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC and streams weeknights on Hulu.
