talkSPORT’s Gabby Agbonlahor has endorsed an Alejandro Garnacho transfer to Aston Villa from Manchester United this summer.

Garnacho looks set for a departure ahead of next season having been told to leave United by head coach Ruben Amorim.

The Argentine also hinted at an exit after their Europa League final defeat to Tottenham and has attracted interest from European sides.

Napoli and Chelsea have been linked with the 20-year-old winger, as well as Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen.

A report from The Independent has also said that Villa are keen on a move for Garnacho, who is valued at £70million.

His United teammate Marcus Rashford had a strong loan spell at Villa Park in the 2024/25 campaign as he got four goals and six assists in all competitions.

However, Agbonlahor previously spoke against a permanent move for Rashford and has now backed Garnacho to sign instead.

“I like him, I think he’s a very good player,” Agbonlahor said on Breakfast.

“Yes, he’s spat his dummy out at times and I don’t blame him. If he’s played well then been left out in a poor Manchester United side, fan favourite as well…

“He’s just got to learn, he’s still a kid, 20 years of age, I think he’s got all the attributes.

“Can he work on his crossing? Can he work on his last pass? Sometimes he’ll shoot when you can cross, he’ll cross when he can shoot.

“But that’s a young player, that’s what they do. I’ll have him, get him down now!”

Garnacho’s future at United has seemingly been all-but confirmed by the club’s £62.5million signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo could also join this summer having already given his approval for a move to Old Trafford.

An exit would spell the end of a five-year stay for Garnacho at the Premier League giants.

He joined from Atletico Madrid in 2020 and initially played in the academy at United before making his senior debut in April 2022.

Garnacho has scored 26 goals and assisted a further 22 across 144 matches in all competitions.

FA Cup and Carabao Cup success has come his way over the past two years, adding to his Copa America success with Argentina.
