On Wednesday, May 21, the royal family's Instagram account announced that King Charles, 76, and Queen Camilla, 77, would soon embark on a trip to Canada—the British monarch's first since taking over the throne in 2023.
King Charles was originally scheduled to travel to the Great White North in 2024. However, the trip was postponed because of his cancer diagnosis.
The two-day excursion will kick off on May 26 and last through May 27.

On April 30, the monarch opened up about his cancer journey, sharing that "the darkest moments of illness can be illuminated by the greatest compassion," per the BBC.
The 76-year-old also praised the "profound impact of human connection—whether in the careful explanation from a specialist nurse, the hand held by a hospice volunteer, or the shared experience in a support group."
