Their son's middle name appears to be a nod to Garcia's mentor, Chef Jamal James Kent, who sadly passed away suddenly in 2024 from a heart attack. Chef Kent was also mentor to Top Chef season 22 contestant Vinny Loseto, who became emotional during one challenge, speaking about his mentor.
