At high noon on Sunday, local equestrians gathered in Potter Valley for a Cowboy Funeral Procession from the Potter Valley Rodeo Grounds to the Potter Valley Cemetery for a 1 p.m. Graveside Service in honor of Potter Valley residents Brian Russell Beeson and his wife, Rochelle Raye Beeson (Bettinelli), both of whom died earlier this month.

These photographs of the May 18 Cowboy Funeral Procession were taken by Peter Armstrong from in front of the Potter Valley Fire Department. Armstrong said it took 19 minutes for the procession of horses and vehicles to pass by.
Following the graveside service, a memorial service and dinner were held at the Eddie Ranch in Potter Valley.
The couple’s obituaries both encouraged those who wanted to make a memorial donation that “In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to any of the Potter Valley Youth or Non-Profit organizations.”
