Nyweide died on Monday, April 14. The obituary does not specifically mention the cause of death, but it does go into the "struggles and traumas" Nyweide endured in her life.
It continues, "She self-medicated to deal with all the trauma and shame she held inside, and it resulted in her death. She repeatedly said she would 'handle it' on her own and was compelled to reject the treatment that might possibly have saved her life.
Nyweide was born July 8, 2000 in Burlington, Vermont. She appeared in the films Margot at the Wedding with Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Jason Leigh, An Invisible Sign with Jessica Alba, Shadows & Lies with James Franco and Mammoth, where she played Michelle Williams' daughter. Nyweide also appeared in several other films, and episodes of Law & Order and What Would You Do?.
In a 2010 interview with the Manchester Journal, Nyweide said that getting to act opposite Williams "was amazing."
"She really set a good example for me. She also gave me tips on acting," said Nyweide of working with Williams. "She gives me a lot of helpful tips and pointers. How you can get into your character like doing it into a mirror or doing it by yourself, practicing it over and over again to get [it] right, to try it different ways and see how you feel it's right."
