OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) -- Oakland Police Department officers fired shots at an armed man on Monday afternoon, police said.
The suspect has minor injuries, but police did not say whether the man was hit. He was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital.

Officers responded to the scene, and the man pointed the gun at them, police said. OPD said "gunfire was exchanged" multiple times at two locations before the suspect was taken into custody.
The involved officers will be placed on paid administrative leave, OPD said.
OPD, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office and the Community Police Review Agency are investigating the shooting.
This marks the second time shots were fired involving an Oakland officer on Monday. Just before 1 a.m., an Oakland Housing Authority officer was shot in the knee with an assault rifle on the 900 block of 85th Avenue. Gunfire was exchanged in that incident as well, OPD said.
