National security adviser Mike Waltz is set to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Friday, amid backlash over President Trump's approach to ending the Russia-Ukraine war.
Waltz will speak a day after Vice President Vance, who stunned the U.S.'s European allies at the Munich Security Conference last week with a speech that took aim at what he framed as the continent's quashing of free speech, while only briefly mentioning Ukraine.

The Senate pulled an all-nighter, adopting a budget resolution intended to serve as a blueprint to deliver the first part of Trump’s agenda. In the wee hours, Senators voted 52-48 along party lines on the resolution after a marathon overnight voting session. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) voted against the measure.
The president's Friday will include a lunch with Vance, the swearing-in of Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and signing more executive orders.
