Illinois Gaming Board Sends Cease and Desist
Online sportsbooks BetAny Sports, BetOnline, BetUS, and Bookmaker have been sent cease and desist letters calling for them to cut off any operations in the state. These sportsbooks are not licensed by the Illinois Gaming Board but users have still been able to access them within state boundaries.
During Super Bowl week, Attorney General Kwame Raoul alerted sports bettors of the importance of using sportsbooks that are approved and licensed in the state. He reiterated how unlicensed betting services can put your personal information and money at risk.

Bovada Also Hit with Cease and Desist
Bovada and its parent company Harp Mediva B.V. were also recently hit with an order as well. This followed Florida who issued one to the operator too. Bovada has pulled out of 17 states and Washington DC after seeing a crackdown by the governing betting committees and boards.
PrizePicks Switching Gears After Letter
PrizePicks is another company that saw a cease and desist letter hit their doorstep. While DFS operates kind of in a grey area in Illinois, PrizePicks has offered both peer-to-peer and against-the-house games in the state. The against-the-house games are what have caused issues for the company. PrizePicks has stated the company will be focusing on peer-to-peer games in the state of Illinois.
PrizePicks has also encouraged lawmakers to look at a DFS bill that could clarify the fantasy sports laws in the state.
