Israel is expanding its military operations, dubbed Operation Iron Wall, in the occupied West Bank to the town of Tammoun north of Nablus.
The expansion of the operation to Tamnuon has seen Israeli forces close the main road in the town, according to Palestinian news agency Wafa.
The expanded operations in the West Bank come as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu heads to Washington D.C. to meet US President Donald Trump ahead of talks on phase two of the Gaza ceasefire.
Ahead of Netanyahu's meeting his far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called for Israel to achieve victory in Gaza and the destruction of Hamas, as well as to "strengthen our hold and sovereignty over the homeland regions in Judea and Samaria [the occupied West Bank].
The meeting is will be the first between the two since Trump's reelection to the White House in November and the beginning of a Gaza ceasefire which has so far seen four captive exchanges.
