Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020, but he remains one of the most popular cricketers in India and worldwide. I Heard That He Was Going to Contest for Lok Sabha Seat - Rajeev Shukla
The politician revealed that he asked MS Dhoni about rumors of him contesting elections. Shukla added that Dhoni prefers to stay away from the spotlight, noting that he doesn’t even keep a mobile phone.
“It is nature to stay hidden, he doesn't even keep a mobile phone with him. It was even hard for the BCCI selectors to approach him, as there was no mobile with him,” he said.
Dhoni has been retained by Chennai Super Kings and will continue playing in the IPL 2025. Since he hasn’t announced his IPL retirement, any possibility of him entering politics remains a distant thought.
