Sourav Ganguly says Virender Sehwag is the greatest opener after Sunil Gavaskar
During the promo, Sourav Ganguly made a bold statement about his former teammate and one of the all-time greatest openers, Virender Sehwag. The former Indian captain has called the former explosive opener the greatest opener in the world after the legendary Sunil Gavaskar.
Notably, Sehwag was known for his fearless and aggressive batting style, and he loved to dominate fast bowlers from the very first ball. The former Indian opener was famous for his powerful square cuts, effortless uppercuts, and straight drives against the fast bowlers.

Sehwag’s strength against the spinners was his swift footwork and the ability to play lofted shots over long-on and long-off with elegance. Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag revealed how Pakistani bowlers were generating the reverse swing and how he outsmarted them.
On the other hand, Ganguly noted, “They’d hide the ball while running. If you watch their action or their run-up, they’d keep it hidden so that the batsman doesn’t see the ball in front of them, and at the last minute there’d be a change.”
