Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) coach Adam Griffith has joined Cricket Australia side as a new pace bowling coach. The former Tasmania cricketer will work closely with the next generation of quick bowlers in the men’s teams, and his role will be crucial in shaping the Australia national cricket team ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025.
Griffith was RCB coach in IPL 2024
Adam Griffith has had a distinguished coaching career. Before his recent appointment as Cricket Australia’s national pace bowling coach, he served as the assistant coach (bowling) for RCB during the IPL 2024 season.
Griffith has also held several key coaching positions in Australian cricket. He has been the senior assistant coach for Western Australia and the Perth Scorchers, Director of Coaching for Tasmania, and head coach of both the Tasmania Tigers and Hobart Hurricanes. Additionally, he has supported Australian men’s teams on various occasions, including bilateral tours in 2012 and 2016, and at the 2019 ICC World Cup in England.
In his new role with Cricket Australia, Griffith will be based at the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane. His responsibilities will include leading the national strategy for pace bowler development, managing the preparation of national pacers, supporting the Australian men’s and Australia A men’s teams, and mentoring pace bowling coaches.

Australian coach Andrew McDonald expressed his enthusiasm for Adam Griffith’s appointment as the National Pace Bowling Coach. He emphasized that Griffith’s extensive experience and knowledge will be vital in nurturing and preparing pace bowlers for Australia’s men’s teams across all formats.
“I’m delighted Adam will bring his extensive experience to Cricket Australia as National Pace Bowling Coach. He will become an important part of our coaching set up,” McDonald said in a statement. “Adam’s expertise across all formats will be invaluable in the preparation of pace bowlers,” he added.
