UFC kingpin Dana White could net a windfall valued at around $1.2 million as part of his package to join Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta.

White is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the US, having grown MMA promotion UFC to unprecedented heights, with the company now valued at an estimated $11.3 billion.

The 55-year-old himself is heavily involved in the day-to-day matchmaking of the UFC, and regularly attends all of their high-profile octagon events.

But it was announced that he would take a new role alongside his MMA endeavours, as he was appointed to the Meta Board of Directors.

This was due to Meta CEO Zuckerberg’s growing relationship with White, with the former admiring the latter’s eye for business.

As a transaction for his services, It is reported by Sportico that SEC filings show White will receive 1,999 restricted stock units alongside the two new Meta board associates.

The shares in the business, otherwise known as RSU’s, are currently valued at $1.28 million, and will be awarded to White as part of his renumeration.

He will receive some of this stock in May, but it will be delivered in instalments throughout his period of service.

It comes in addition to a reported $50,000 retainer that White received after being appointed as a board member.

Zuckerberg and White’s working relationship has blossomed in recent years and will continue for many to come.

It even saw White try to tempt Zuckerberg into a celebrity cage fight under the UFC banner in 2023, with words traded between the CEO chief and X CEO Elon Musk.

But it ultimately failed to materialise, although Zuckerberg does train in mixed martial-arts but largely for leisure.

It is estimated White has a net worth of $500 million, and that is likely to go from strength to strength as his business ventures grow.

Things are shaping up to be promising for the UFC in 2025, with some big potential fights to come including a potential clash between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall.

White also wants to continue to take the promotion global and explore new international territories.

And he has plans for fights in Spain, South Africa and other new cities with the action to ramp up in 2025.

“It’s always star driven,” White said.

“We got a guy right now, Ilia Topuria, who is our featherweight champion and he’s big in Spain.

“We’ve never been to Spain, so we’re gonna go to Spain. I just opened a Performance Institute down in Mexico, cultivating lots of Mexican talent down there right now.

“Mexico’s gonna be big for us over the next several years. I’m looking to go into Africa for the first time.

“We have a champion from South Africa. So I’m looking to go everywhere, everywhere on this planet, we’re gonna end up doing a live event.

“We’re gonna start going into cities that we haven’t been to pre-pandemic. We’re gonna start going back, we’re gonna do Chicago in 2025.

“We’re gonna go back up to Seattle and hit a lot of other places that we haven’t been in a while. So we’re gonna move around a lot in 2025.”
